Vu was born in former South Vietnam and came to the United States as a refugee in 1975. Growing up with a Catholic father and Buddhist mother, Vu was introduced to religion at an early age. After studying different religions and philosophies, he came to believe and accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior while attending The Ohio State University. Vu has served as president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Ohio State, as well as a volunteer staff for IVCF. Before coming to ANCF in 1998, he was serving as the Worship Leader at Columbus Chinese Christian Church while growing the English and Youth ministries there.
